General Questions
- Who owns the copyright to the produced video?
In a typical Zadby commission, the video producer retains the copyright to all materials. In these cases, the video producer and brand manager can negotiate through Zadby to reach additional terms regarding transfer of ownership.
In cases where the commission includes a Purchase Multiple value, the brand can purchase the copyright from the video producer for the specified multiple of the total commission budget.
- How will Zadby compete with sites like YouTube?
- We don't and won't. The last thing we want to do is compete with the likes of YouTube. Zadby is not a destination site like YouTube or MySpace. We're a marketplace that facilitates the development of quality content for those sites. So, as Zadby succeeds, we drive more viewers and more ad revenue for those sites.
- What sites distribute Zadby videos?
Zadby producers distribute their own videos, so they can really put them anywhere. However, Zadby only counts and pays for video views on YouTube and MySpace Video. We work with these two sites because of their large audiences and robust click fraud technology that prevents artificial inflation of view counts.
Zadby is currently evaluating additional video hosting sites. If you have a site in mind, why don't you let us know? You can reach us at Info @ zadby.com (without the spaces).
- How do I change my password?
If you know what your password is and would like to change it, log in and click on the "Account Information" tab. You'll find the fields needed to reset your password at the top of the page.
If you do not know what your password is, click on the "Log In" link at the top-right of the Zadby homepage. That will open up the Log In form on which you will find the "Forgot Password?" link. By filling out your User ID and submitting the form, you will receive an email with instructions on resetting your email.
If you don't know what your User ID is, please send us an email to support @ zadby.com (without the spaces) with your name and email address. For obvious security reasons, we cannot reset passwords to email addresses other than those entered into Zadby.
- How do I report a copyright violation?
- The Terms of Service document has detailed instructions on how to report a copyright violation. Please refer to that document.
- What is a Brand?
- A Brand refers to anyone on the Buy side of a Zadby transaction. This could be an advertiser, marketer, or brand manager: anyone looking to commission work from within Zadby.
- What is a Producer?
- A Producer is someone who is creating, or producing, videos in response to the requirements set forth by the Brand. Producers can be independent videographers or production studios.
- What is a Budget?
- A Budget is an amount of money set aside to fund a video or set of videos.
- What is a Commission?
- A Commission is a request for the creation of a video and contains all the requirements and limitations associated with that request.
- When do Commissions end?
A Commission ends when one of two things happens:
1. The Commission's Budget is consumed and there are no longer any funds available for payment.
OR
2. The Commission End Date is reached.
- What is the difference between the Commission Deadline and the Commission End Date?
The Commission Deadline sets the date at which all video Submissions need to be made. Once the Commission Deadline has come and gone, Producers may no longer submit videos to that Commission.
The Commission End Date sets the date when the entire Commission closes and the Brand will no longer pay for views. Please keep in mind that a Commission may end prior to the defined End Date should the allocated Budget be depleted.
