Brand Manager Questions
- How do I know that the hits/views are not fraudulent?
- Zadby relies in great part to the safeguards put in place by the video hosting sites (YouTube and MySpace). These sites use session information to limit the number of impressions/views that they record for each video. We have found these measures to be sufficient thus far. None of our videos have radically overperformed a producer's typical video viewership. If we ever encounter a situation where the view count seems suspicious, Zadby reserves the right to suspend a video and/or the payments on a given video should we have reason to believe that the views have been artificially inflated.
- What happens if none of the videos are appropriate?
It's your money, your campaign, your decision. If none of the videos match what you're looking for, don't accept them. But, given the talent of the Zadby Producer Community, we'd be surprised if that's the case.
Any monies you deposit with us go into an escrow account and remain the property of the brand until a video has been viewed and dollars accrue to the producer. For more information on the escrow account and how it works, please refer to the Terms and Conditions.
If you reject every video submission, you will never receive less than a 70% refund, and in many cases, you will receive a 100% refund. To understand the parameters dictating your refund amount, please see the next FAQ, "What is the difference between Product Placement and Branded Content videos?"
- What is the difference between Product Placement and Brand Content videos?
Product Placement videos incorporate your brand into the story in a clever way that involves 15 or less seconds of screentime. Branded Content videos involve your brand more prominently with on screen exposure for your brand.
Product Placement videos are great for building awareness, interest and purchase intent, and they give you a bigger bang for your buck with low suggested CPMs. Branded Content videos can be commissioned for higher CPMs to do everything that Product Placement videos do as well as reinforce key brand messages or educate your customers about important features.
Budgets for Product Placement commissions are 100% refundable if you reject the finished videos. Our producers can easily cut your branding scenes and post their video anyway.
Since Brand Content videos can't be repurposed if rejected, producers will be more careful before shooting. You will receive concept proposals and information on producers' audience size and demographics in advance of shooting. If you approve a proposal but reject the finished video, up to 30% of your budget will be used to compensate the producers for their production costs and the remainder will be refunded (the exact refund percentage will depend on how many videos are submitted and how many videos are rejected).
- When and how am I billed?
- Zadby will invoice you when you originally set up an account as well as whenever you would like to add additional funds to your escrow account for use in new or existing campaigns. These dollars remain the property of the brand until a video has been viewed and dollars accrue to the producer. For more information on the escrow account and how it works, please refer to the Terms and Conditions.
- Why are the funds collected up front?
- It's very important to the video producers that they be paid in a timely manner. If we collected the view information, then invoiced you, and then finally paid producer, it would be six to eight weeks for them to get paid. Not good. Collecting the funds up front enables us to pay our producers twice a month--much more consistent with online expectations for immediate gratification. We would actually pay out more often if it were not for some pesky banking rules.
- What happens if there are funds left over in a Commission after the Commission End Date?
- Any funds left in the Budget of a Commission when the End Date is reached will be automatically transferred back into the parent Campaign for use in other Commissions. Brands may also request unused funds be returned to them as a cash refund.
- What is a typical Zadby budget?
- Budgets can range from a few thousand dollars to the six-figure range. Please contact Zadby for more information on an appropriate budget for your project.
- What is a typical Zadby CPM?
Every situation is different, but Zadby does have some generic pricing guidelines. The range is between a $15 CPM for product placements of 5 seconds or less and a $50 CPM for custom branded videos. A more detailed document of various pricing options is available upon request.
Branding prevalence is only one factor that can affect pricing. Other factors include the characteristics of your target audience and difficulty of incorporating your product or service into a video. Zadby is glad to work with you to understand your requirements and suggest a CPM that will entice quality producers without breaking the bank.
- How long does production take?
We suggest allowing video submissions for 4-6 weeks from the time you post your commission. This timeframe will allow the greatest number of top producers to respond to your commission, submit creative concepts, and work your project into their shooting schedules.
If you are in a real rush, our current record in turning around finished, approved videos is 13 days.
- How long should the payment period be?
- We suggest that you coordinate your Zadby payment period with your larger marketing campaign objectives. If you don't have any exterior pressures on your Zadby campaign timeline, a 3-month payment period is usually interesting to our producers.
- Does Zadby ever do CPA deals?
- Zadby is better suited to brand advertising than direct response, but we will consider a CPA deal with certain advertisers. These deals are much more complicated than CPM deals, and if you are interested in discussing this possibility, we suggest that you contact a member of our sales team.
